♻️ March 30 — International Day of Zero Waste
🗑 March 30 was designated by the United Nations as the International Day of Zero Waste. This day is aimed at reducing waste, promoting responsible consumption, and developing a recycling culture. In 2026, the global focus of this date is specifically on reducing food waste.
♻️ This issue is also highly relevant for Tashkent city: in 2025, a total of 1.1 million tons of waste were collected in the capital. Every day, approximately 3,000 tons of waste are collected and removed using 320 specialized vehicles.
🇺🇿 The Tashkent City Administration views waste management not only as a municipal service task, but also as an important area of ecology, modern urban governance, and civic culture. To this end, the “Toza Poytaxt” (Clean Capital) system has been introduced to digitalize waste management processes. This system enables real-time monitoring of the movement of waste collection vehicles, assigned territories, state license plates, and waste collection days for each district.
🖥 In addition, citizen appeals received through the xalqnazorati.uz platform are accepted and directly forwarded to the responsible authorities. This helps improve the quality of appeal processing, shorten problem resolution times, and ensure system transparency.
🔄 Practical work is also being carried out in the field of recycling. For example, the “Profpack” enterprise in Yangihayot district processes about 2,500 tons of paper waste per month. In addition, special projects aimed at separate collection of plastic waste and increasing recycling efficiency are being considered.
🔺 Control and accountability also remain under constant attention. In particular, during raids conducted in 2025, fines totaling more than 2 billion soums were imposed in the capital for dumping waste in unauthorized places.
➡️ Today’s date reminds us of one important truth: the waste problem cannot be solved only by removing it. Especially considering the 2026 global theme, preventing food waste, expanding sorting culture, taking responsible care of environmental cleanliness, and respecting the work of system employees must become a daily habit for each of us.

For this purpose, 204.7 billion soums have been allocated.Of which: — 112 projects — construction works — 54 projects ...
