capital and largest city of Uzbekistan, a city under republican subordination.
It is the most populous city in Central Asia, an important political, economic,
cultural, and scientific center of the country, and an aviation, rail, and road
hub.

The Tashkent International Investment Forum is held annually in Tashkent. In 2025, investment agreements worth approximately $30.5 billion were signed.
In 2026, the First Silk Road Finance & Technology
Forum, the II International Economic Cooperation Forum, and one of the largest
real estate forums in the region — Move Real Estate Summit 2026 — were held.
Tashkent has been included in international lists of
promising tourist destinations for 2026.
Construction of facilities has begun in “New Tashkent” — this is a large-scale urban development megaproject being built on an area of about 20 thousand hectares between the Chirchik and Karasu rivers in the Urta Chirchik and Yukori Chirchik districts of Tashkent region. The city is designed for 2 million residents and is being planned as an environmentally clean and technologically advanced “smart city”.
