Tashkent City Khokim Shavkat Umurzakov met with representatives led by Omar Al Midani, President and CEO of Vision Invest Company.
During the meeting, a high assessment was given to the current level of cooperation with the Saudi side, which is regarded not only as a reliable partner of Tashkent city but also of the entire Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as a close friend. The warm and trusting relations between the parties were particularly emphasized.
The interlocutors noted that the diplomatic relations established between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia in 1992 have risen to a new qualitative level in recent years. Cooperation has taken on a practical character and is being implemented through specific projects and initiatives. Confidence was expressed that the achieved level of partnership and trust arouses interest and respect in other countries as well.
Special attention was paid to the participation of Saudi companies in implementing important projects in Uzbekistan, particularly in the energy and aviation sectors. The high level of mutual trust and strategic closeness was emphasized as the main factor of cooperation, rather than the volume of investments.
Within the framework of the meeting, information was provided on the conditions and opportunities created for investors at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as on ongoing and prospective large-scale projects in the fields of road infrastructure, hospitality and tourism, waste processing, and water purification.
