Inventory of Tashkent trees

The website green.tashkent.uz is the public part of the electronic tree inventory platform for Tashkent, conducted with the support of the Zamin Foundation and the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change. The Department of Digital Development developed an electronic database and trained volunteers to operate the equipment and the digital tree registry.

The digital registry is being created to develop a tree protection strategy and requires tree data—tree age and species, crown height and width, and tree photographs—to help create a green resource management system.

Around 100 volunteers, all students from Green University, are working on the inventory and entering data into the digital registry. They visit and measure trees. About 5,000 trees are added to the database daily.

The goal is to add one million trees to the registry by the end of 2025.
