Separate garbage collection experiment
On December 3, an explanatory meeting of residents of the mahalla Mukimi of the Yakkasaray district, selected for the experiment on separate collection of garbage, was held at 144 schools.
All mahalla houses will receive three bins: for plastic and paper, for food waste and other rubbish. Also, glass and hazardous waste (batteries, light bulbs, telephones, televisions) will be collected separately. Machsustrans cars will pick up one of the types of garbage on certain days of the week.
Sherzod Kattakhodjaev, Deputy General Director of SUE “Makhsustrans” spoke to the residents of the mahalla, spoke about the need for sorting garbage and the procedure for assembly and processing. And the psychologist Raisa Tajibaeva conducted an explanatory lesson, showing in detail what garbage to collect in which containers. Everything seems to be simple and clear, but some objects are immediately difficult to classify, it is recommended that they are sent to “general rubbish”. It was demonstrated what plastic bottles are processed into - plastic wool, which is good as a heater and filler for upholstered furniture.
Earlier, we reported that until 2028 four garbage recycling plants will be built outside the city, 60% of the waste will be processed on them. And now, in the Yakkasar district, in cooperation with Ecology LLC, a waste disposal line has been introduced, eight types of waste are sorted and processed on it. Pre-sorted garbage can be processed faster, sorting is the most time-consuming process, transferring the sorting process to residents will help debug garbage disposal.
Recall that Tashkent annually generates 6% more garbage, if nothing is changed, then in 15 years the volume of garbage will double and it will be impossible to remove and dispose of it. The only way that all countries go is to recycle waste, but garbage must be separated from this.
We are waiting for the results of the experiment for analysis and scaling.
