Services and Information for the Homeless
In Tashkent, the government provides the following services to help homeless citizens, including women, children, people with disabilities, and the elderly:
1. Shelters for Women Victims of Violence. Duration: 6 months.
Organization: Social Protection Agency. Note: Provides safe, temporary housing for women victims of violence.
2. Mercy Homes for Persons Under 18
Note: Children left without care are placed in mercy homes with the necessary care.
3. Sakhovat Homes for Persons with Disabilities and the Elderly
Note: Persons with disabilities and the elderly are placed in Sakhovat Homes with social and medical assistance.
4. Assistance to families left homeless due to family problems. Services: Legal and psychological consultations, reconciliation measures.
Organization: Social Protection Agency.
5. Assistance for homeless people over 18
Organization: Tashkent Department of Internal Affairs (TIA). Note: Homeless people can contact the police. The reasons for their situation are investigated, and necessary measures are taken.
6. Assistance for victims of natural disasters
Organization: Ministry of Emergency Situations. Services: Emergency assistance, medical services, and temporary housing.
